Bhutan Eco-Green Initiative Network

Bhutan is known throughout the world for its farsighted environmental policies. With this said, BEGIN was established coinciding with His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuck’s 60th birth anniversary, who had in his reign established a strong foothold for the pristine environment we have today.
Our project’s future plan include plantation of trees, waste management and also establishment of public parks in urban areas and many more, we aim to set BEGIN as an organisation in the long run that will spread in all the twenty dzongkhags as an autonomous body managed by its members.
This initiative is dedicated to the 60th Birth Anniversary of the Fourth Druk Gyalpo. With this initial start, our aim is to have 100,000 members by 2020.
